In the third quarter of 2021, Todd and the team favorably resolved a federal case involving the former owner of two medical clinics in Tampa. The owner had been indicted for conspiracy and multiple counts of health care fraud, with $1.6 million in alleged loss. After working the case for over two years, and on the eve of trial, the government offered a plea to a single record-keeping count with a loss of under $3,000. The client avoided jail altogether and paid $3,000 in restitution.
In late 2021, Todd represented the owner of two construction businesses that were the subject of multiple raids by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security related to alleged immigration violations. After 18 months, the case was resolved as a Class B misdemeanor with a fine- no probation, no restitution, no forfeiture.
